I have to post this list, or else I would forget these places. I know this is an old article, but it is a nice resource to have. These places all have great burgers. I have visited a few of them and I plan to write about them. I am sure there are other fabulous burger joints, now. But anyways, I just wanted to share this list with you.

Ford's Filling Station. Ben Ford's gastropub has a classic take on the burger, made with house-ground beef, Point Reyes blue cheese, caramelized onions and a La Brea Bakery bun. 9531 Culver Blvd., Culver City; (310) 202-1470. $14 at lunch; $16 at dinner.

Stonehill Tavern. The truffled Kobe burger is hedonistic, but not pointlessly so; it's got lots of smart truffled accouterments, any of which would be great on its own on a burger. St. Regis Resort Monarch Beach, 1 Monarch Beach Resort, Dana Point; (949) 234-3318. $28.

The Terrace. Though there's a great sirloin burger on the nightly menu, on Sunday burger nights by the pool, there are five to choose from, including a boffo duck burger. Sunset Tower Hotel, 8358 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood, (323) 654-7100. $21 to $25.

25 Degrees. This retro hotel bar serves flavorful, assemble-your-own burgers, wrapped in parchment like a gift. Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, 7000 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, (323) 785-7244. $9 and up.

Cocktail of the Week - The Extra Dirty 3 Olive Vodka Martini
The Extra Dirty 3 Olive Vodka Martini is one of my favorite drinks. . . .that I hardly order. Personally, a martini glass drink is for females. . .in my opinion. But I do like this drink. The olives give the savory taste that I like every once and awhile.
The Extra Dirty 3 Olive Vodka Martini
*3 oz Vodka, I prefer Grey Goose
*1 oz dry Vermouth
*1/2 oz or more Olive brine
Garnish with 3 Olvies

Peruvian in LA - El Pollo Inka
The Saltado de Pollo was quite tasty. Peruvian is quite hearty. I guess the cowboys in Peru like these types of meals. I first went to El Pollo Inka about a year or two ago. I would visit there again. Most of the menu items seem to be enticing enough try in the future. I only with El Pollo Inka had branch in LA.

Babybacks in the Winter
I don't know how he does it. . .but my buddy makes some of the best homemade babyback ribs. He is quite unorthodox in his bbq, yet is still tasty and tender. Here are some pictures of the BBQ.

Good Food, Bad Parking - Grub
I visited Grub about a year ago and had their Mac and Cheese and Club Croissant Sandwich. I need to visit them again to try their famous breakfasts. Unfortunately, parking sucks at Grub.

About the Thirsty Pig
I'm a simple guy that likes simple things. I don't necessarily like to write lengthy posts of about my adventures. . . but I will show you some pictures from the current and the past. . .
My likes . . .
Hole-in-the-Wall restaurants, Japanese and Sushi, almost all types of Chinese. Currently, I like White Russians. Additionally, I will order a Jack & Coke, Gin & Tonic, and Godmothers. I do like Rampur Gin (from Tanqueray), Hendrick's and Bombay Sapphire.
My dislikes. . .
Super Spicy (BTS is bad!), anything dairy unfortunately . . I do not like Vodka straight . . . still reeling from my experience in College. . .

LA Jimmy's Ultimate Dining Guide. . .Circa 1996
I started writing about food in 1996 with my first website - LA Jimmy's Ultimate Dining Guide. This was when I first worked for a short lived Internet firm in Los Angeles - Emagine Studios. This foray was my hobbie at the time. I used Frontpage to build the site. These listings are so old that some of these establishments are no longer here. Some have changed names or closed.
